In retail merchandising, margins are coveted and shrink guarded. Unfortunately, theft throughout the industry has grown exponentially causing retailers to heighten their attention towards preservation of product. In this case, a global leader in retail merchandising was experiencing substantial loss in their electronic stock. Despite the best effort of the merchandiser, thieves used extraordinary methods to escape with high end products like notepads, computers, and other electronic devices. In fact, this retail giant was experiencing loss numbers at individual stores exceeding $1.0 million dollars.

Turning to SaniSafe Products' Asset Protection team, skilled experts visited each store experiencing the losses. Rather than present an "off the shelf" solution, SaniSafe's team of professionals worked with the Store Manager and their team to specifically propose a securement solution for each product category. Through careful measurement, a custom protective cabinet was designed, built and installed without the Retailer having to change its merchandising display.

The results were immediate! The individual stores merchandise was substantially protected and theft deterred. In some cases shrink, as a result of shoplifting, was reduced by as much as 90%. According to anecdotal information based on theft reduction, return on investment by the Retailer demonstrated pay back in less than two months.

In the competitive grocery industry, quality of product and its ultimate display yields significant consumer results. At the time, an undisputed leader in grocery products in the State of Texas, was separating its refrigerated product with wire dividers. Although workable, the wire dividers were difficult to keep clean and caused a visual distraction for consumers as they scanned the product case.  In consultation with SaniSafe’s highly skilled marketing and design representatives, it was determined that a solution resided in the use of a clear polycarbonate divider.

At first, the grocery chain was skeptical about the practicality and durability of polycarbonate. However, SaniSafe was able to demonstrate that not only was polycarbonate a strong and long-lasting medium for product separation, but it perfectly met the seamless standards desired by the grocer.  What the Texas grocery chain wasn’t expecting was a value added component. Through the use of clear polycarbonate, the grocer was able to add 8-10 more inches of space for consumer merchandising.

In the competitive C-store environment, shelf space is a premium and accelerated product turnover is paramount to extracting maximum margins. In Miami, a key customer contacted SaniSafe Products design and innovation team to discuss ways of improving the economics of product display. Traditionally, this customer used a slat wall back with a pre-formed peg and hook hanging system to offer pre-packaged items. However, this was messy and store employees constantly battled misplaced hooks and fallen inventory.

After a thorough conversation, SaniSafe Products developed a unique solution that not only addressed the unsightly product display but actually improved economics for the customer. In lieu of the peg and hook, SaniSafe evolved a proprietary custom acrylic shelving system. This streamlined arrangement yielded a better pack, improved sales efficiency, and, as noted by the customer, "provided a much cleaner look.""
